Netflix has been offering more and more animes in recent years, including some “Netflix Originals”. I have often asked myself the question “what anime should I watch on netflix”, and so I made a list of 50 good animes that you can watch on Netflix.

The two brothers and alchemists Edward and Alphonse Elric made a fatal mistake when they were young: When they failed to perform a strictly forbidden transmutation, Edward lost a leg. His brother is even more affected. Edward can only save him by sacrificing his own arm in an equivalent exchange and binding Alphon’s soul to an armour – but his body seems lost. A far too high price the two had to pay for their recklessness.
Therefore they decide to try everything to get their old bodies back. To obtain the best research conditions in the field of alchemy, they finally join the army of Amestris. The military dictatorship of the country uses so-called state alchemists as elite fighters in wars and conflicts.
In times of peace, however, the “lackeys of the army” are free to do research and gain access to extensive records on alchemy, as well as the corresponding financial means. But soon the two Elric brothers have to realize that their own problems seem almost insignificant compared to the threat to the land of Amestri…

3. Steins;Gate

The story of Steins;Gate is set in Akihabara, a district of Tokyo, and revolves around the self-proclaimed scientist Rintarou Okabe. He is an extremely eccentric person, and some would even call him crazy. In reality, however, Rintarou uses unorthodox methods to carry out a series of questionable experiments that rarely provide any added value to humanity.
However, this does not stop him from opening the doors of the Future Gadget Lab every day and working on crazy inventions with his friends Mayuri Shiina and Itaru Hashida. By chance, Rintarou develops a time machine, the so-called Phone Microwave, with which he can send messages into the past.
He soon realises that he is also changing the present and the future – with devastating consequences. Especially when the shady organisation SERN became aware of his work, Rintarou knew that he was in danger and went underground. He makes the acquaintance of the young neuroscientist Kurisu Makise.
4. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

On August 10, 2010, the Holy Britannian Empire invaded Japan. A terrible war began, which Japan lost because of the mechas developed by Britannia, the Knightmare Frames. Japan became part of Britannia’s empire and lost its freedom and rights and got a new name, Area 11. Because Lelouch, the son of King Charles vi Britannia, had to watch his mother being killed by terrorists in front of him and his father doing nothing about it, he swore to destroy the kingdom of Britannia in revenge.
Seven years after the war, Lelouch lives in Area 11 and goes to school there. One day, he sees a truck chased by Knightmare Frames crash into a wall. Due to unfortunate incidents, he falls into the truck, and when he finds himself in an underground vault, a girl suddenly emerges from a container on the truck. Lelouch flees with the girl through the sewers but is captured by Britannia’s troops at the exit.
When they want to shoot him for terrorism, the girl offers him to enter into a contract with her, which gives him the power to escape from this situation alive. Without hesitation, Lelouch agrees. Now Lelouch has something he can use to destroy the empire of Britannia and so he begins his preparations for the campaign to destroy it.

The world is in chaos. Wars and crises are dominating events. In 2015 they will return to complete their work. Now the city of Tokyo-3 is under attack. All those who exceed a specific value are arrested and treated or, in cases of extreme hardship, immediately eliminated.
Akane Tsunemori is fresh from the police academy and is assigned to the Enforcers, the unit that hunts down the potential and real violent criminals. She quickly realizes that her new unit is a tough one, as they themselves use criminals and perpetrators of violence to take advantage of their knowledge of the behavior of such people, always with the danger in mind that they might one day turn against their unit themselves.

However, the company isn’t interested in the fate of Rokurou, who has meanwhile made friends with his kidnappers and sends a handful of mercenaries to wipe out Rokurou and the pirates. By a saving idea of Rokurou, the mercenaries are killed, and the pirates, impressed by his performance, accept him into the crew of the “Black Lagoon”. From now on, he calls himself Rock and fulfills orders for the Lagoon Company for the Mafia and various syndicates.

When Yuzuru Otonashi wakes up on the grounds of a school unknown to him, he does not know what is going on at first.
