One Piece is one of my favorite shounen anime. I remember the first time I came across One Piece. A friend had some One Piece manga at home, and I took a look when I visited. And from then on, it was clear that I would love One Piece and watch every episode/manga.

That was more than 20 years ago now, and I still read the manga. The anime is not for me because I personally don’t really like the animation. I like the old one much better; the new one is just too “colorful” for me. It’s incredible how long Oda stays on the ball and how many “spin-offs” he has brought out over time. All the movies and the new live-action series of One Piece.

I must admit, though, that I liked One Piece better until the timeskip. To me, it’s a masterpiece until Luffy goes into two years of training with Rayleigh. After the timeskip, I lost interest a bit as all the arcs weren’t really it for me. Still, I read everything and am up to date and will continue to read everything.

I have already created a few One Piece quizzes. My Ultimate One Piece Quiz, One Piece Devil Fruit Quiz, One Piece Character Quiz, One Piece Bounty Quiz, and the One Piece Jolly Roger Quiz. This is by far the anime with the most quizzes on my site. Simply and solely for the reason that I am a huge fan of One Piece and have been for over 20 years now.

It’s one of 2 anime that I associate with my childhood. The other one is Dragon Ball. By the way, I also have 2 Dragon Ball quizzes. One is my Ultimate Dragon Ball Quiz, and the other is my Dragon Ball Super Quiz. Even though I already have some One Piece Quizzes, I still wanted to make another one – which I’m sure won’t be the last one 😉 . This time, I made a Which One Piece Character Are You quiz. I have to say, it was a bit difficult to choose the characters you could get. There are just so damn many in One Piece.

While considering which characters to use for this quiz, I also thought about more One Piece quizzes like this. I think I will make more Which One Piece Character Are You quizzes in the future, but then something more specific. Like Which Yonko Are You?, or Which Pirate Crew Would You Belong To in One Piece? Etc. But that will be decided in the future. Let’s get started with this quiz for now😉.

Monkey D. Luffy

• Dream: Luffy’s biggest dream is to become the king of pirates by finding the legendary treasure called One Piece. He was inspired by his idol, Gol D. Roger, who had previously found this treasure.

• Abilities: Luffy has the abilities of the Gum-Gum Fruit (Gomu Gomu no Mi), a devil fruit that gives him rubber powers. This means that his entire body is elastic and can stretch and expand, giving him unique fighting abilities. But in reality, the Gomu Gomu no Mi is the Hito Hito no Mi Model: Nika.

• Personality: Luffy is characterized by his lively and wild personality. He is brave and determined and has a great love for adventure and freedom. Luffy is often naive and has a preference for eccentric friends and allies.

• Crew: Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, a diverse crew of adventurers and misfits. Each crew member has unique abilities and contributes to making the Straw Hat Pirates one of One Piece’s most powerful and well-known pirate groups.

• Rivalries and Friendships: Luffy has some strong rivalries, including regularly fighting against the Navy and other powerful pirates while forming friendships and alliances with other pirates to achieve common goals.

• Development: Throughout the story, Luffy evolves from an inexperienced and impulsive young pirate into an increasingly powerful and wise captain (lol, but we have to give him some sort of credit) as he prepares to make his dreams come true.

Luffy is a fascinating character who has captured the hearts of fans with his determination, courage, and passion for adventure.

Sanji

• Background: Sanji lived with his foster father, Zeff, on a restaurant ship called Baratie. His real name is Vin Smoke Sanji. Sanji is the third son of the Vin Smoke family, a notorious group of assassins.

• Dream: Sanji’s biggest dream is to find the “All Blue,” a legendary sea where fish and seafood from all the world’s oceans live. As a cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, he dreams of gathering the best ingredients worldwide to cook the most delicious dishes.

• Skills: Sanji is an exceptionally talented chef who has developed his own fighting style, “Black Leg Style.” He has tremendous leg strength and uses mainly his legs in combat, executing quick and powerful kicks. He can also create fire in his legs, which makes his attacks even more dangerous.

• Personality: Sanji is known for his gentlemanly style and love for women. He is polite and respectful towards women and refuses to hurt them in battle. He also has a rough relationship with Zoro and is often annoyed by his behavior. But we all love to see it!

• Crew: Sanji takes on the role of the cook on the ship, making sure that the crew members are always well-fed. He is also one of the Straw Hat fighters and is instrumental in helping the crew survive dangerous situations.

• Rivalries and Relationships: Sanji has a long-standing rivalry with Zoro, and the two often engage in humorous battles. Nevertheless, he cares deeply for his crew members and will sacrifice everything for them.

Sanji is a popular character and adds a special touch to the series with his unique fighting style, cooking skills, and complex personality. His dream of “All Blue” symbolizes his desire for culinary perfection and freedom in the oceans.

Roronoa Zoro

• Background: Zoro comes from the Shimotsuki village in East Blue and grew up as a swordsman. He has dreamed of becoming the world’s best swordsman since childhood. Zoro’s character is closely related to his love for swords and his determination to perfect his skills in sword fighting.

• Dream: Zoro’s biggest dream is to become the world’s strongest swordsman. He is determined to achieve his goal and constantly trains to improve his sword fighting skills.

• Skills: Zoro is a master of the three-sword style (Santoryu) and carries three swords simultaneously, with the third in his mouth. His fighting prowess and techniques are impressive, and he can perform powerful attacks that often defeat his opponents imposingly.

• Personality: Zoro is known for his serious and stoic personality. He often speaks little and acts on the principle of “keeping promises.” He has a strong sense of honor and is willing to sacrifice his life to fulfill his promises or protect his crew members.

• Crew: Zoro is the swordsman and first mate of the Straw Hat Pirates and serves as a sort of protector of the crew. Although he sometimes gets into humorous arguments with Sanji, he respects his crewmates and is willing to do anything for them.

• Rivalries and Goals: Zoro has a rivalry with Sanji that is often expressed in humorous fights but still involves deep appreciation and respect for each other. His main goal is to become the strongest swordsman, and he strives to constantly improve himself to achieve this goal.

Zoro is a fascinating character known for his determination, impressive sword-fighting skills, and stoic personality. His pursuit of perfection in sword-fighting and his commitment to the crew make him an indispensable member of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Shanks

• Background: Shanks is the captain of the Red Hair Pirates and was formerly a member of the Roger Pirates. He is one of the most powerful and respected pirates in One Piece.

• Character: Shanks stands out for his relaxed and charismatic nature. He is known for his red hair, sharp mind, and wisdom. Despite his pirate past, he is kind and caring towards his friends and allies.

• Goal: Unlike most other pirates in the series, Shanks doesn’t seek treasure or fame. Instead, his main goal seems to be to enjoy life on the seas and appreciate freedom. He also strongly believes in the next generations of pirates and that Luffy will become a great king one day.

• Significance to the plot: Shanks’ influence on the plot of One Piece is enormous. He is the one who “let” Luffy eat the Devil Fruit, which gives him his gum-gum abilities and inspires him to become a pirate. Shanks’ appearance at the beginning of the series and his interactions with other characters have far-reaching effects on the events in One Piece.

• Strength and Abilities: Although Shanks is one-handed, having sacrificed one of his hands to save Luffy’s life, he is still an exceedingly dangerous fighter. His strength and his Haki make him one of the most powerful characters.

Shanks remains mysterious and fascinating, and his actions and motivations are often important to the plot. He symbolizes the idea of freedom and friendship that, plays an important role in the series and profoundly influences the development of Luffy and other main characters.

Trafalger Law

• Background: Law is from the North Blue and has a tragic past. His hometown was destroyed by the world government, which drove him to start a life as a pirate and join the pirate crew of Donquixote Doflamingo before forming his own crew.

• Dream: Law’s original dream was to find the mysterious One Piece, but this later changed after he learned the truth about the “D” in the name of some characters in the series. Now, he aims to unravel the “D” family and the mystery behind its name.

• Abilities: Law possesses the abilities of “Ope Ope no Mi,” a devil fruit that allows him to create spaces and manipulate objects or people in those spaces. This gives him amazing control over his surroundings and makes him a dangerous opponent in combat.

• Personality: Law is usually cool, calm, and calculating. He often thinks strategically and acts thoughtfully. Although he often seems aloof, he has a strong bond with his crew and is willing to fight for their safety. He also has a certain penchant for sarcastic humor.

• Crew: Law is the “Heart Pirates” captain and has a close relationship with his crew members. They trust him and share his interest in deciphering the “D” secrets.

• Connection to other characters: Law has a complex relationship with Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates. Although they started as rivals, their relationship developed into a close alliance over time, and Law became an important ally of the Straw Hat Pirates.

Sabo

• Background: Sabo was born as the son of nobles in the Goa Kingdom and was originally the childhood friend of Luffy and Ace. However, Sabo had enough of his aristocratic life and decided to break out and live a life as a pirate.

• Connection with Ace and Luffy: Sabo was close friends, and they were like brothers. They promised each other to seek freedom and adventure one day in their childhood. Unfortunately, Sabo was presumed dead after an accident, and Luffy only learned of his survival years later.

• Abilities: Sabo is the current user of the “Mera Mera no Mi,” a logia devil fruit that gives him control over fire. With this ability, he can create powerful flame attacks and even use the sword of the late Ace.

• Revolutionary Army: after Sabo escaped from his aristocratic life, he joined the Revolutionary Army, a secret organization that fights against the world government. He plays an important role in the army and helps achieve the revolutionaries’ objectives.

• Personality: Sabo is a determined and loyal character. He is serious in his convictions and fights for justice and freedom. Nevertheless, he also has a loving and caring side, especially towards his brothers Ace and Luffy.

• Reunion with Luffy: Sabo’s reunion with Luffy is a moving event. When the brothers meet again, it turns out that Sabo still retains the memories of their childhood together and their promises, leading to a heartfelt and emotional meeting.

Sabo is an important character in One Piece, with his connection to Ace and Luffy and his abilities and commitment to the revolutionaries. His story is characterized by a desire for freedom and the pursuit of justice.

Brook

• Background: Brook is the musician of the Straw Hat Pirates and belongs to the skeleton category of the living dead after eating the Yomi Yomi no Mi. Brook is over 80 years old and was separated from a whale named Laboon many years ago when he was still a living human.

• Musician and Swordsman: Brook is a talented swordsman who knows the style of “fencing” and is a talented musician. He plays the violin, and his music has the power to affect listeners’ minds, whether through tears or laughter.

• Clothing and Appearance: Brook usually wears a suit, a top hat, and a cape, which gives him a very stylish and eccentric appearance. His skeletal face has a characteristic nose and a big afro (strong hair roots 😉). However, despite his appearance, he often maintains a humorous and friendly character.

• Funny Habits: Brook has several funny habits, including his ability to move at an impressive pace and suddenly appear in front of others. He also often uses the word “Yohoho!” as a laugh and emphasizes his appearance’s “skull” aspect.

• Personality: Brook is a cheerful and fun-loving character who is often referred to as the “funny bone man” of the crew. However, he also has a serious and wise side shaped by his many life experiences.

• Goal: Brooke’s main goal is to travel the Grand Line again and reunite with Laboon, the giant whale that once transported the band of musicians-pirates. He has promised to see Laboon again and tell him what happened to his original crew.

Brook is a unique and lovable character who plays an important role in the Straw Hat Pirate Crew because of his quirky abilities and personality. His story of separation and reunion with Laboon gives his character a special emotional depth.

Tony Tony Chopper

• Background: Chopper is a reindeer that has gained the ability to think and speak due to eating the Hito Hito no Mi, a devil fruit that allows an animal to gain human abilities. Originally, Chopper was a loner and was rejected by the people in his forest because of his unusual appearance.

• Devil Fruit and Transformation Forms: Chopper can transform into various forms, including his original reindeer form, a smaller and cuter form known as “Chibi Chopper,” and various human forms. One of his most notable forms is his “Monster Chopper” form, in which he becomes huge and powerful.

• Doctor and Nakama: Chopper is the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates and has acquired impressive medical expertise. He is constantly striving to improve his skills and help others. Chopper considers the Straw Hat crew members his family and is extremely loyal and protective of his friends.

• Childlike Innocence: Despite his ability to transform into different forms, Chopper often has a childlike and innocent personality. He is curious, impressionable, and has a distinct fondness for sweets.

• Dream: Chopper’s greatest dream is to become a doctor who can cure all diseases. He wants to find and develop cures for various diseases worldwide to achieve this goal.

• Known Equipment: Chopper also has some notable equipment, including the “Rumble Ball,” a special medicine that allows him to use additional transformation forms.

Chopper is one of the most heartwarming characters and is loved by many fans for his cuteness and warm personality. Despite his initial insecurities, he has gained enormous confidence throughout the series and has become an important member of the Straw Hat Pirates, bringing both medical abilities and fighting strength.

Dracule Mihawk

• Title and Position: Dracule Mihawk is often referred to as “the strongest swordsman in the world.” He is one of the Seven Samurai of the Seas. His title and strength make him an impressive and feared figure.

He enjoys the challenge of strong opponents and always pursues the goal of being the best swordsman.

• Powerful Swordsman: Mihawk is a master swordsman who has developed various techniques and skills. He masters the sword “Yoru” with incredible precision and can effortlessly cut huge ships in half. His attacks are deadly and extremely precise.

• Connection with Zoro: They have a special relationship, as Mihawk considers Zoro a promising challenger. That’s also why he trained him.

• Loneliness and isolation: Mihawk lives alone on Kuraigana Island in an impressive castle. He prefers solitude and spends his time practicing swords and studying.

• Unclear motivation: The exact reasons for Mihawk’s actions and his affiliation with the Seven Samurai of the Seas remain largely unexplained in the series. His motivations and intentions are often a mystery, which makes his character even more mysterious.

Dracule Mihawk is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating characters in One Piece. His strength, mysterious nature, and connection with Luffy make him a memorable character, significantly influencing the story.

Portgas D. Ace

• Background: Ace was born to Gol D. Roger, the king of pirates, and Portgas D. Rouge, a young woman from the Goa Kingdom. His birth name was “Gol D. Ace,” but he later changed it because he hated his father. Ace grew up in the Goa Kingdom and was persecuted by the world government in his childhood because he carried the blood of Roger.

• Devil Fruit and Powers: Ace ate the Mera Mera no Mi, a logia devil fruit that gave him control over fire. This allowed him to create powerful fire attacks and burn his opponents.

• Whitebeard Pirate Crew: Ace joined the Whitebeard Pirate Crew under the command of Edward Newgate, also known as “Whitebeard.” He quickly became a key figure in the crew and was known for his strong bond with Whitebeard and the other crew members.

Corazon

• Background: Corazon was the brother of Donquixote Doflamingo, the leader of the Donquixote pirates known as one of the Seven Samurai of the Seas. Originally, Corazon was a member of the Donquixote family and had a difficult relationship with his brother Doflamingo.

• Character and Personality: Corazon was known for his gentle and kind personality, starkly contrasting his brutal brother Doflamingo. He pretended to be mute and used sign language to communicate. Corazon was a kind person who cared about the welfare of others and often tried to stop Doflamingo from his vicious plans.

• Trafalgar Law: Corazon was the mentor and protector of Law. Corazon helped him control his abilities and protected him from Doflamingo, who held Law as a prisoner.

• Secrets and Sacrifices: Corazon kept a deep secret from his brother Doflamingo. He carried the “Ope Ope no Mi” devil fruit and planned to use it for a specific purpose. To save Law and protect the secret of the fruit, Corazon ultimately sacrificed his life and remained silent until his death.

Corazon is a tragic character in One Piece, known for his goodness and sacrifice. His story is closely linked to Trafalgar Law and the secrets of the Devil Fruit in the series. His legacy and deeds strongly influence the plot and the development of the characters in One Piece.

Franky

• Background: Franky is the shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates and is responsible for building and repairing the crew’s ship, the Thousand Sunny. Before joining the Straw Hat Pirates, he was originally a member of the Franky Family, a group of bandits on Water 7.

• Liberation Movement on Water 7: Formerly known as the “Iron Man Franky” of Water 7, Franky was notorious for his rowdy and wild ways. However, after the events of the “Enies Lobby” saga, his life changed drastically. He helped Luffy and his crew free Nico Robin from the captivity of the World Government and was seriously injured in the process.

• Cyborg Transformation: Franky underwent a radical transformation to become a cyborg. He replaced large parts of his body with mechanical implants, including his arms, legs, and even his stomach. His new look is striking, as he sports a large, spherical nose and numerous metal parts.

• Strength and Technology: Franky is extremely strong and resilient as a cyborg. He can take enormous damage and has impressive fighting power. His fighting style is based on his “cyborg” form and special techniques, such as the “General Franky,” a giant robot that can carry out powerful attacks.

• Personality: Franky is a loud, extroverted character who often acts enthusiastically and excitedly. He enjoys partying in the company of his friends. Despite his rough exterior and fierce nature, he has a good heart and is loyal to his friends.

• Dream: Franky’s dream is to create a dream ship that would experience countless battles, overcome extreme hardships, and reach the end of the Grand Line.

Franky is an important character in One Piece and contributes significantly to the mobility and strength of the Straw Hats, especially through his abilities as a shipbuilder and his technological innovations. His transformation from a rowdy bandit to a cyborg shipwright is a characteristic example of character development and growth in the series.

Nico Robin

• Background: Nico Robin is an archaeologist with a fascinating and tragic background. As a child, she was hunted by the world government because she was the last survivor of Ohara, which was destroyed by the so-called “Buster Call.” Her parents were killed, and she grew up isolated and without a family, leading her to lead a lonely and distrustful life early on.

• Devil Fruit and Abilities: Robin ate the Hana Hana no Mi, a devil fruit that allows her to create hands from her body that can go anywhere. This gives her a unique ability to explore things and gather information.

• Archaeology: Robin has a deep passion for archaeology and the search for the “Rio Poneglyphs,” ancient stone tablets that contain knowledge about the lost history. Her skills as an archaeologist are invaluable, as she helps uncover the world’s secrets.

• Liberation of Enie’s Lobby: one of the most memorable events is the rescue of Nico Robin from Enie’s Lobby by Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. This event led Robin to join the Straw Hats after years of being on the run and not trusting anyone.

• Personality: Robin is quiet, intelligent, and often mysterious. Because of her painful past, she is initially suspicious of others, but throughout the series, she opens up and develops a strong bond with her crewmates, especially Luffy. She is also known for her sarcastic sense of humor.

• Goal: Robin’s main goal is to find the Rio Poneglyphs and decipher the world’s lost history. She is determined to obtain this knowledge and reveal the truth about the world government and the mysterious One Piece.

Nico Robin is a complex character known for her intelligence, archaeological skills, and moving past. Her membership in the Straw Hat Pirates has enabled her to pursue her goals while finding a new family to love and cherish.

Donquixote Doflamingo

• Background: Doflamingo comes from the infamous Donquixote family, one of the ten original royal families that once ruled the “normal people.”

• Pirate Career: Doflamingo became a pirate and founded the Donquixote Pirates, which later became one of the most feared pirate crews in the world. He mastered using “Ito Ito no Mi,” a devil fruit that gave him control over threads and the ability to inject them even into people and manipulate them.

• Rule of Dressrosa: Doflamingo took over the control of Dressrosa and deceived the people by posing as a benevolent king while continuing his criminal activities behind the scenes.

• Rivalry with Luffy: Doflamingo and Luffy became bitter rivals when Luffy decided to free Dressrosa and end Doflamingo’s schemes. This led to an epic confrontation in the Dressrosa arc, where Luffy and his allies fought Doflamingo and his forces.

• Downfall and Punishment: In the end, Doflamingo was defeated and captured. His fall had far-reaching effects on the world and Dressrosa, which regained its freedom.

Donquixote Doflamingo is a complex character, characterized by its ruthless schemes and desire for power and revenge against the Celestial Dragons. His role in the series as a villain and his interactions with other characters, especially Luffy, made him one of the most memorable antagonists.

Whitebeard

• Nickname and Reputation: Whitebeard is often called the “strongest man in the world” and enjoys tremendous respect among pirates, marines, and the world. His nickname “Whitebeard” refers to his mighty beard.

• Pirate Crew: Whitebeard was the captain of the “Whitebeard Pirates,” one of the four emperors of the seas. His crew was known for their strength and loyalty to Whitebeard. Among his crew members were some of the strongest fighters in the world.

• Devil Fruit: Whitebeard ate the Gura Gura no Mi, one of the most powerful devil fruits, which enabled him to generate earthquake powers and shake the landscape. His devil fruit abilities made him an unstoppable force in the sea world.

• Family Man: Although a feared pirate, Whitebeard had a big heart and considered his crew members his “children.” He took in orphans and gave them a home on his ship. This led to a close bond and a strong family atmosphere within his crew.

• Rivalry with Gol D. Roger: Whitebeard had a legendary rivalry with Gol D. Roger, the pirate king who ruled the seas. Their fights and encounters are legendary and have marked the world history of One Piece.

• Marineford War and Death: Whitebeard played a crucial role in the Marineford War, trying to free his adopted son Ace from the Marines. Although severely wounded, he fought to the end and died in an epic battle. But before dying, he gathered his last breath and bellowed at the top of his lungs,, “ONE PIECE… DOES EXIST!”

Whitebeard is one of the most respected and powerful characters in One Piece. His legacy and words influenced the world and profoundly affected the characters and the plot of the series. His love for his crew and determination to protect his “children” made him a moving and unforgettable character.
